Projects
During my time at IU Indianapolis, I have had the opportunity to work on many projects that have been both fun and challenging. Each one has been a unique experience, and I am excited to share a few of them with you!

01
Behavioral Interviewing: A Training Session
In my Developing Employee Skills class, my group worked together to create a 20-30 minute training session on a topic of our choosing. With my experience from my internship working with behavioral-based interview questions, I was able to bring some real-world knowledge to the table. It was a great opportunity to collaborate, teach, and share what I’ve learned!
02
Designing a Pay Structure
This project was a SHRM Case Study where my group and I designed a pay structure for an engineering consulting firm headquartered in Indianapolis that expanded its operations to Chattanooga, TN.
The learning objectives of this case were to:
-
Write job descriptions, using the O*NET website
-
Use the point method to conduct a job evaluation
-
Analyze pay survey data for benchmark jobs
-
Create a market pay line using Excel
-
Establish a pay policy line based on a pay level strategy
-
Create pay grades
-
Establish pay ranges

03
Recruitment Plan
This project involved creating a comprehensive recruitment plan for a fictional company, focusing on external hiring. We researched job roles, developed creative sourcing strategies, and presented a 20-30 minute recruitment plan covering company insights, job-specific methods, interview questions, and budget considerations. Deliverables include an individual summary and a group presentation.
04
Redesigning an Organizational Structure
Teams acted as organizational design consultants by selecting an existing company to analyze. Using course concepts, students evaluated the company’s structure, processes, and effectiveness, and then provide recommendations for improvement. We had to write a 8-10 page report covering data collection, analysis (using STEEP and STAR models), key challenges, and strategic recommendations.
We also had to give an in-class presentation summarizing findings and proposed design improvements. The project emphasizes data-driven insights and practical solutions, helping students like me apply organizational design principles in real-world scenarios.
